The accident occurred shortly before 7.00 in the morning, on the Nicosia - Kokkinotrimithia highway at a point between the exit to Anthoupolis and the exit to Archangelos, when a pedestrian, who according to the first information, was crossing the road to Nicosia, was dragged by a passing car resulting in serious injury.
An ambulance and members of the Police rushed to the scene.
The accident affected the traffic in both directions, as both the right lane in the direction of Nicosia and the right lane in the direction of Kokkinotrimithia were temporarily closed.
