The need for measures on the issue of increases in all goods and accuracy and not in holding meetings, emphasizes the candidate for the Presidency of the Republic Marios Iliadis.

According to a written statement, with a new round of meetings, the President of the Republic, the Ministry of Finance and the Government in general, are presented to seek solutions to the huge problem of staggering increases in almost all basic consumer goods and accuracy. However, as he notes, this huge problem is not solved by meeting after meeting but by drastic decisions and immediate measures and these are what society does not see yet.

Mr. Iliadis says that more than four months after the start of the war in Ukraine that triggered the new economic crisis, the government is "refining the cone" and seems to be looking for more ways to avoid decision-making. He adds that with the alleged argument of the need to safeguard public finances and other excuses, the government rejects any idea and proposal, either to reduce taxes or to impose a ceiling on the prices of fuel and other basic goods.

Mr. Iliadis characterizes as provocative in the current crisis the State to create additional surpluses from increased revenues from taxes on fuel and electricity and to refuse to return them in some way to the citizens, as well as to continue to turn a blind eye to the phenomena of scandal. .

Mr. Iliadis states that decisions and measures are needed here and now and in this effort the European Union must assist in practice, strengthening, as it successfully did during the pandemic, the economically weak European countries.
