The issue of the viability of a number of service stations adjacent to the Green Line is brought back by the Pancyprian Association of Petroleum Petroleum Companies, which in an extraordinary enlarged meeting of its Executive Secretariat, decided to proceed with measures to .

"The ever-increasing flow of Greek Cypriots to and from the occupied territories and the devaluation of the Turkish pound have created conditions of unfair competition, with the result that a significant number of petrol stations adjacent to the Green Line have a very serious reduction of their operations exceeding 30-40%" , note the gas station owners through their announcement.

This ongoing situation, they emphasize, "has created the issue of sustainability in a number of gas stations but at the same time affects all gas stations nationwide".

As reported, the meeting unanimously decided to take scalable measures and actions. Specifically, it was decided to engage, cooperate and coordinate with other affected professional bodies for a joint, more effective response to the problem. It was also decided to seek new meetings with the competent Ministries of Foreign Affairs, Finance, as well as with the Customs Department.

Finally, the meeting authorized the Executive Secretariat to take "all necessary legal actions and measures, including mobilizations, if necessary, as a last resort to address the whole problem, which unfortunately over time and has already reached alarming proportions ", as indicated.
