Professor at the Department of Biological Sciences of the University of Cyprus Dr. Leontios Kostrikis resigned from the Scientific Advisory Committee on the coronavirus, with the Minister of Health Konstantinos Ioannou expressing his gratitude to the professor for his contribution to the management of the pandemic.
According to information provided to journalists by the Ministry of Health, Mr. Kostrikis had submitted his resignation from the Scientific Advisory Committee for the coronavirus, citing workload.
The Minister of Health, who appointed the members of the TEU and to whom the resignation letter is addressed, did not accept the resignation, the Ministry informs.
Today, Mr. Kostrikis returned, thanking the Minister for the trust in his person, however he insists on his resignation.
The Minister expresses "his thanks to Mr. Kostrikis for his contribution to the management of the pandemic so far", looking forward to the continuation of the cooperation.
