The Piraeus Court of First Instance imposed a one-year prison sentence with a three-year suspension on the 37-year-old mother of the 5-year-old, who fell yesterday, Wednesday 26 May, in the sea area of Piraeus and almost lost her life.
The court did not accept as sufficient the mother's explanations of how the child escaped her attention and was found at sea and will build a month.
The girl's 37-year-old mother had been arrested and detained for exposing a minor to danger.
The 5-year-old, who is being treated at the Children's Hospital, is in better health and is expected to be discharged in the coming days.
The minor was located in the sea area of Piraeus by the captain of the ship "AGIOS NECTARIOS" and was picked up by officers of the Coast Guard who provided her with cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CARPA), resulting in the recovery of her senses.
