The members of the Traffic Headquarters arrested two drivers who were found to be driving their vehicles at excessive speed last night.
In the first case, members of the Traffic Police stopped a 26-year-old driver, who was traveling at a speed of 192 kilometers per hour instead of 100, shortly after eight in the evening, on the Limassol-Nicosia highway. The 26-year-old was arrested for a car crime and taken to a police station was charged in writing and released. Today he is expected to be brought before the District Court of Nicosia.
In the second case, members of the Traffic Police stopped a 10-year-old driver, who was traveling at a speed of 19 kilometers per hour instead of 140, on the Nicosia-Kokkinotrimithia highway, forty minutes after 80 pm. The 19-year-old was arrested for a car crime and taken to a police station. where he was charged in writing and released.
Also, the members of the Traffic Headquarters, in the last 24 hours, carried out traffic checks on the highways and the secondary road network, where they located and reported another 140 drivers for exceeding the speed limit.
