After a unanimous decision of the Board. of Famagusta, a resolution was issued which was notified to all the embassies of the member states of the European Union and the embassies of the permanent members of the UN Security Council. which is attached as is.
The resolution calls on Turkey to intervene directly and catalytically to prevent its attempt to open the besieged city of Famagusta. Turkey is also called upon to comply directly with UN Security Council Resolutions 550 and 789, the Kyprianou-Denktash summit, European Parliament resolutions and the Secretary-General's recent letter. of the UN to the P.T.D. referring to Famagusta and requesting the return of the city to its legal inhabitants.
In conclusion, the resolution indicates that the return of Famagusta should not be linked to the final solution of the Cyprus problem, since resolutions 550 and 789, as well as the 1979 summit agreement between Kyprianou and Denktash, clearly state that "priority must be given to on the return of Famagusta to its legal inhabitants ".
