The voter may, in addition to the party coalition that decides to vote, additionally express his / her preference to some or certain candidates of this coalition, in accordance with the law.

Specifically, as announced, voters can exercise their right by marking a cross or crosses of preference in the small boxes next to the name of their candidate.

Preference crosses must not be more than the number specified below:

Nicosia 5
Limassol 3
Famagusta 3
Larnaca 2
Paphos 1
Kyrenia 1

The law stipulates that every voter is entitled to mark a cross of preference for every four seats. But when there is a balance, after dividing the total number of seats in each constituency by the number four, the number of preference crosses increases by one.

It is emphasized that the right of the voter to mark a cross or crosses of preference on candidates of the combination of his election, is not obligatory.
