TEPAK: The contract for the construction of facilities of the School of Tourism was signed

Just a few weeks after the signing of the Agreement with TEPAK, the Municipality of Paphos proceeded on Friday to sign the contract for the study and supervision of the construction of the building of the School of Tourism Management, Hospitality and Entrepreneurship at the University of Technology. the Municipality for this purpose despite the Church of Panagia Pantanassa.

Speaking at the signing of the contract with the contractor E. Papachristou Architects LLC, the Mayor of Paphos, Faidonas Faidonos, stressed that for the first time the city and the province acquire a public University School "and in fact a School that will contribute to the upgrading of the hotel and tourism industry, which is the locomotive not only of the local economy but also of our country's economy ".

He noted that the Municipality of Paphos looks forward to the strict observance of the schedules, so that within the next March the plans are ready in order to announce the Tender and within June to start the construction works. The aim is for the facilities to be ready by July 2023 for classes to begin in September of the same year.

He added that the Municipality of Paphos is rapidly implementing its goals "to make Paphos an important center of Regional Higher Education, with the operation in our city of the Schools of TEPAK, the American University of Beirut, the Pafos Innovation Institute and the of the private University of Neapolis Paphos "and characterized 2023 as a milestone year, as this year all the new University Schools are expected to operate in the city.

The architect-designer of the project, Iraklis Papachristou, noted that the project that will be constructed will be a "landmark for the city" since in addition to the functionality and the modern concept in the design, it will be characterized by architectural elegance and authenticity. He assured that the planning will proceed normally and according to the schedules.

The signing ceremony was also attended by a team of six architects and engineers from the American University of Beirut, accompanied by the Vice President of the Foundation and another Professor, who is in Paphos since yesterday for an on-site study of the building complex of Haropomylos. and construction plans for hosting this University in the city.

The signing of the contract was also attended by the President of EBE George May, the President of the local PASYXE Thanos Michailidis, the Director of the Company for Tourism Development and Promotion of Paphos Nasos Chatzigeorgiou, Municipal Councilors of Paphos, executives and executives.
