TEPAK bids farewell with deep sorrow to the executive of Giannis Economidis who passed away after a long illness
With deep sorrow, the community of the Cyprus University of Technology (TEPAK) bids farewell to the administrative and Civil Engineer in the Property Management Service of the University, Giannis Economidis, who passed away yesterday after a long illness.
Giannis Economidis was one of the first administrators of the University and one of the pioneers of its development. He was distinguished for the integrity of his character, his diligence, his high professional ethos and his consistency. He worked diligently and professionally for the development of the building infrastructure of TEPAK.
The Rector of TEPAK, Professor Panagiotis Zafeiris, referring to the deceased, said: "Today we lost a valuable executive of our University who worked tirelessly to offer to our community and society at large." In a message to the university community, Ms. Zoe Hadjivassiliou, Head of the Property Management Service states, among other things: "The news of his death emotionally burdens those of us who worked with him and got to know him closely. Giannis offered his services at the University since 2008 with conscientiousness and diligence. He was passionate about his subject and associated his name with overseeing major University projects. "
The funeral will take place tomorrow at 10:00 am in the cemetery of Sfalaggiotissa. The outgoing procession will be sung in the church of Agios Kosmas of Etolos. The wish of the family is that, instead of laying wreaths, contributions be given for the well-being of TEPAK students.
The Cyprus University of Technology expresses its sincere condolences to the family and relatives of the deceased. The flags of the University will fly at half-mast until the day of the funeral, as a sign of mourning.
