A Divine Liturgy will be celebrated on Sunday, December 19, at the Holy Basilica and Stavropegian Monastery of the Apostle Barnabas in occupied Salamis.
An announcement of the Diocese of Constantia - Famagusta states that the service will begin at 7 in the morning and is expected to be completed around ten. The service will be added by the Metropolitan of Constantia and Famagusta Vassilios, who will perform, as he has established in recent years on the Sunday before the Nativity, the memorials of the eunuch elders and fathers of the Monastery.
The annual memorial service of the blessed Archbishop of Cyprus Chrysostom of A. will also be held.
According to the announcement, Metropolitan Constantia belongs to the fraternity of the Monastery of the Founder of the Church of Cyprus, Apostle Barnabas, whose members were expelled during the barbaric Turkish invasion of 1974.
It is added that the Divine Liturgy will also be attended by the Professor of the Holy Monastery of Apostle Barnabas, Archimandrite John, who addressed the invitation to the Metropolitan of Constantia and Famagusta, as well as other clergy of the Archdiocese and the Diocese.
Those wishing to attend church must present a 72-hour Rapid Test, while those holding a vaccination certificate must present a 7-day Rapid Test along with the vaccination card.
It is noted that "there will be no buses from the free province of Famagusta for pilgrims to the Monastery in occupied Salamis."
