Written statement by the Commissioner for the Citizen Mr. Panagiotis Sentonas
"A meeting was held today, at the Presidential Palace, on the subject of cooperation with private companies and organizations under public law, to provide incentives to young people to promote vaccination.
The meeting was attended by representatives of the Federation of Employers and Industrialists, the Cyprus Chamber of Commerce and Industry, the Cyprus Youth Organization, the Cyprus Telecommunications Authority, the Cyprus Electricity Authority, the Cyprus Sports Council, the Cyprus Sports Organization, the Cyprus Association public and private universities.
Also present were Dr. Zoe-Dorothea Pana, Member of the Scientific Advisory Committee of the Ministry of Health and Professor Konstantinos Fellas, Member of the Scientific Advisory Committee and Chairman of the Committee for the Psychological Recovery from the Impact of the Pandemic.
During the meeting, a discussion took place and the participants' suggestions on the issue of promoting vaccination among the youth were recorded. In cooperation with the stakeholders, the interest of companies and organizations under public law will be recorded for participation in the whole effort, through the provision of specific incentives.
The aim is to announce the incentive framework in the coming days, after the above process is completed, in order to strengthen the vaccination coverage effort for young people.
