The following categories have been selected based on the existing international literature and taking into account the epidemiological data of the disease epidemic so far. COVID-19 in the international arena and in the Republic of Cyprus.
Category A:
Patients in the following categories can work provided they are not in public places and there is no increased number of people.
- Age over 65 years.
- Pre-existing Chronic Respiratory Disease (eg chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, moderate bronchial asthma)
- Chronic Renal Insufficiency (creatinine clearance 15-30 ml / min).
- Type 1 diabetes mellitus and / or with target organ damage (chronic renal failure, cardiovascular disease, retinopathy, chronic peripheral neuropathy - unless it falls into category B).
- Pathogenic obesity BMI> 40.
- Hemoglobinopathies (thalassemia homozygotes, Sickle Cell Anemia).
- Chronic hepatic impairment stage Child-Pugh C.
- Serious genetic coagulation disorders.
- Neuromyopathies.
- Pregnant women regardless of gestational age, breastfeeding and breastfeeding.
Category B:
Patients in the following categories are considered very high risk and it is recommended to work from home.
- Pre-existing Chronic Respiratory Disease (eg severe bronchial asthma, patient undergoing chronic oxygen therapy or non-invasive ventilation [CPAP or BiPaP] at home, severe pulmonary hypertension (NYHA III and IV), severe pulmonary fibrosis, ).
- Severe Chronic Renal Failure (creatinine clearance <15 ml / min and dialysis).
- Cardiac arrhythmia with permanent defibrillator or heart disease with permanent defibrillator and ventricular pacemaker.
- Heart Failure of any etiology (Ischemic or non-ischemic) stage according to NYHA III or IV.
- Cardiovascular disease:
- Recent acute coronary syndrome or revascularization surgery: angioplasty or stent implantation in the last 12 months,
- Aorto-coronary bypass (CABG) bypass in the last 12 months,
- Recent SLE in the last 12 months or with established neurological semiology.
- Cardiomyopathies (History of documented myocarditis, hypertrophic, dilated, invasive (amyloidosis)).
- Congenital heart disease after surgical correction with significant residual damage or uncorrected congenital heart disease with significant residual damage.
- Active use of biological agents (eg TNF inhibitors, interleukin inhibitors) or other immunosuppressive drugs.
- Active chronic corticosteroids (≥ 20mg prednisone or its equivalent for ≥ 1 month).
- Patients with a history of solid organ or hematopoietic stem cell transplantation.
- Patients with solid or hematologic malignancy receiving chemotherapy or radiation or immunotherapy.
- Patients with HIV or patients with CD4 lymphocyte count <200 / mm3.
- Hereditary or acquired immunodeficiencies.
