The new Mercedes C-Class will be more luxurious and more equipped than ever, while its dimensions have been increased and it will bring, among other things, a new 1.600 hp diesel engine.

The new C-Class was unveiled online and will officially debut at the Detroit Motor Show in January. More specifically, the new model of the German brand is more "aggressive" in design, reminiscent of larger models of the company, while its equipment is extremely rich, adopting features of the technologically advanced new S-Class.

In terms of design, the largest grille at the front stands out, compared to the previous model and the new luminaires with integrated LEDs, which emphasize the new more dynamic image of the German sedan.

In addition, it presses on a new Mercedes platform, the "MRA", which offers it less weight (-100 kg), compared to the previous generation and of course less fuel consumption. In terms of dimensions, the new C-Class is 95 mm. further away from the 3rd generation (4.686 mm) and 40 mm. wider (1.810 mm), while its wheelbase increased by 80 mm. (2.840 mm), offering more space to the rear passengers.

At the same time, inside - whose photos were officially unveiled a while ago - the 4th generation of the premium model, impresses with its upgraded materials, leather upholstery and the 7 or optional 8,4 inch screen, along with a touch pad mounted on the center console. In addition, it will have a head-up display system (information displayed on the front windshield electronically).

There will also be new "smart" air conditioning, which uses GPS to track when the car is tunneling and automatically shut off air vents to prevent harmful gases from entering the cabin. Optionally, it will be equipped with the Airmatic suspension, which allows the driver to choose between 4 different settings (Comfort, ECO, Sport and Sport Plus), while it can be automatically adjusted to the road on which the vehicle moves.

As for the mechanical parts, it will initially be available with the new 2 liter turbo gasoline engine of 184 and 211 hp. Also, the 1,6 turbo petrol with 156 hp and 250 Nm of torque will be available, while later a new 1,6 l will be added to the range. diesel engine with 115 and 280 Nm of torque, but also with 136 hp and 320 Nm of torque. In addition, Mercedes will later launch a hybrid version with an average consumption of just 3,9 l / 100 km. All engines will be mated to a 6-speed manual -or optional 7-speed automatic- transmission, which will transfer the drive to the rear wheels ( optional in all 4).
