After several statements made by MINI about the new generation MINI Cooper, it officially concluded that it will be presented in November at the Los Angeles Motor Show.Last week we presented you with a taste of the next generation MINI Cooper, with the original MINI Vision. MINI has chosen not to prolong the anxiety of those directly concerned, announcing that it will be at the Los Angeles Salon in November.
In fact, the new model will not premiere in September at the Frankfurt Motor Show, as the BMW group wants to focus on the presentation of the electric i3.
Based on our electronically processed photo, the new 3-door MINI Cooper is more sporty and classic, both from the 5-door version and from the outgoing model. At the same time, in the front part remain the large round lights, with LED daytime running lamps, while the bumper changes and acquires greater input emphasizing the sporty character of the car.
It is worth noting that it will adopt a brand new front-wheel drive platform. This platform, codenamed "UKL1", will not be the exclusive prerogative of MINI models, but will be used as a base for the next generation BMW 1 Series.
Finally, at the engine level, among other things, there will be a 3-cylinder 1,5 liter gasoline, producing 134 hp and a diesel of the same capacity with 114 hp.
