These are the first official photos of the brand new Nissan Qashqai that had its official premiere a few hours ago in London.

It is obvious that the wait was worth it. Nissan has kept us anxious for the last 10 days for the official presentation of the new Qashqai, giving us information and images with the dropper, but it rewards us with one of the most interesting models we will see on the streets in 2014.

The Japanese promised us an impressive appearance and the first photos confirm their claims. The 2nd generation Qashqai draws on elements from the new X-Trial but separates its position with sharper edges that give it a much more dynamic look.

That Qashqai is very important to Nissan is not new. It is not new that its commercial success, with more than 2 million Qashqai produced from 2007 to date, would force Nissan to take it as seriously as it could anyway. And that is exactly what he did.

With a production line next to the electric Leaf, the Juke and the Note, in Sunderland, Great Britain (at the factory with a capacity of 500.000 cars per year), the new Qashqai is also one of the ambassadors Nissan around the world.

The new Qashqai, therefore, is 49 mm longer in length than the outgoing model, while at the same time it appears wider and lower, strengthening the visual imprint of the model. The spaces for the passengers are much better than the previous model, with the one available for luggage, having "gained" 20 liters and is now 430 liters.

The engines with which it will be available from February 2014, which will be launched in the European market, are entirely turbo with the aim of downsizing in all cases.

Performance and performance was one of the demands achieved in the best possible way. It is worth noting that from the versions of the model it stands out with the emissions of 99 g / km. and that makes Qashqai particularly "green" and harmonized with the trend of the time.

The engines with which the new Qashqai will be available are two diesel and two petrol. Starting with the petrol engines, the basic choice is the 1.2 DIG-Turbo that delivers 115 hp (129 g / km CO2), while the largest DIG-T option is at 1,6 liters with 150 hp (132 g / km) CO2).

The dCi diesel engines have a capacity of 1,5 liters with 110 hp (it is the one with 99 g / km CO2) and 1,6 liters with 130 hp. The latter has evolved jointly with Renault and combines high efficiency with low consumption and limited emissions. It will be combined with transmission on two or even four wheels.

The "basic" two-wheeler emits CO2 emissions of 115 g / km, while the one with the Xtronic automatic CVT transmission, emits 119 grams of CO2 per kilometer and the four-wheel drive 129 g / km.

Nissan acknowledges that most of the models sold will be front-wheel drive, but for the second-generation Qashqai it offers a choice of four-wheel drive versions, combined with either the 6-speed manual transmission or the Xtronic automatic.

In terms of applied technology, the equipment of the new Qashqai is complete and displays all those elements that are found in more expensive proposals of larger categories.

Nissan's Safety Shield with the integration of elements such as the front collision avoidance system (Front Collision Avoidance), Driver Attention Support (which controls the driver's fatigue through his reaction time to situations encountered on the road) and the traffic signal recognition system (by reproducing the signals on the instrument panel for the convenience of the driver) as well as the Intelligent Park Assist (which will automatically park the car), changes the level in the model.
