A fire broke out this morning on tires in a forest area of Sotira. The result of the fire was that the Savior was "suffocated" by the fumes of the burning tires with thick black smoke.
In the specific plot, old tires were thrown by a private individual, which today were engulfed in flames. Both the Fire Service and the Police and the officials of the Municipality of Sotiras immediately went to the spot and extinguished the fire before it spread to nearby houses and the forest area that is very close.
The Fire Department is investigating the incident and it is not ruled out that the fire was caused by malicious action.
