Once again, the Tavern "Musician" deservedly wins the award for best tavern in Cyprus from the magazine TIME-OUT. In the now established awards that took place last night (November 27) took place the Time Out Eating Awards 2013 presented by the natural, carbonated, mineral water San Pellegrino with a major sponsor ALFAMEGA supermarkets.

The award was received by the chef and co-owner of the Tavern "Musician" George Papamichael. It is worth mentioning that the owners of the tavern are Petros and Giannis Mousikos and George Papamichael.

For the 9th consecutive year, the awards ceremony at the largest gastronomic institution in Cyprus took place with great success at the Royal Hall in Nicosia. This year, the institution presented the natural, carbonated, mineral water San Pellegrino with a large sponsor, the ALFAMEGA supermarkets.

Both the restaurants and the readers of Time Out showed great interest in the top gastronomic event of the year, who supported the event with their 48.732 votes.

Presenters of the evening were Louis Patsalidis (stand up comedian) and Roula Georgiadou (radio producer of Radio Proto and presenter of the Sigma series "Weather for Cyprus"), Fani Socratous (actress in the series "Seven Skies and Clouds") and Marileni Stavrou (actress in the RIK show "Potatoes Antinachtes"). The award ceremony was attended by Christiana Aristotelous - radio producer of Super Fm -, Chrysanthos Tsouroullis - Sigma TV News Director -, Petroula Argyrou - presenter of the Sigma show "Protoselido" - and many others.

The menu was edited by the National Culinary Team of Cyprus under the instructions of chefs Panikos Hatzittofis and George Damianos, in collaboration with the chef of the Royal Hall Mr. Pampos Antoniou and the kitchen team. The menu enjoyed by the guests was 3 dishes of creative cuisine and were accompanied by the wines of Chrysorogiatissa Winery (Agios Andronikos and Agios Elias).

FIRST COURSE: Trachanas (hot goat halloumi and simmered tomato, lamb meatballs, trachana foam and mint pesto)

SECOND DISH: Pork with zucchini Kappamas (braised pork fillet and neck, zucchini, mashed celery and carrot, broth flavored with Commandaria)

THIRD DISH: Anarotartata (pomegranate tart with caramelized walnuts, yogurt ice cream with forest fruits and carob honey)

Coffee and Cypriot cheeses with quince paste and toast were also offered.

The prizes were awarded in 9 categories: New Arrival, Fish, International Cuisine, Mediterranean Cuisine, Hotel Restaurant, Bar / Café-Restaurant, Tavern, Souvlaki and finally the Nice Price category.
Also, 5 special awards were given for the Favorite Restaurant of the Readers, which gathered the most total votes from the readers of TIME OUT, the restaurant with the Best Wine, the Innovation Award, the Best Cypriot Product and the Chef of the Year award.
