Traveler arrivals increased by 1,7% in August 2019, reaching 745.277 compared to 733.078 in August 2018, which is mainly due to the increase in tourist arrivals by 3,6%.
According to an announcement by the Statistical Service, for the period January - August 2019, traveler arrivals amounted to 3.930.874 compared to 3.805.187 in the corresponding period of 2018, recording an increase of 3,3%.
The arrivals of tourists increased by 0,6% and the returns of residents of Cyprus for the specific period increased by 8,5%.
Regarding the departures of travelers, there is also an increase of 1,7% in August 2019 compared to the previous year as well as a 3,4% increase for the period January - August 2019.
