Tourism revenues reached €418 million in the first four months of the year, showing an increase of 30% compared to the corresponding period last year and 11,30% compared to 2019, the year that recorded a historical record for the Cypriot tourism.

Based on the results of the Travelers Survey, published today by the Statistical Service, tourism revenues in April amounted to 217,6 million, showing an increase of 17,6% compared to last April, while compared to the corresponding month of 2019 recorded an increase of 16,6%.

At the same time, the per capita expenditure of tourists in April 2023 amounted to €634,89 compared to €639,65 in April 2022, marking a decrease of 0,7%, while the average length of stay was 7,9 days, compared to 8,7 ,2022 days in April XNUMX.

According to the Statistical Service, the highest daily expenditure in April was presented by the Israelis (second largest tourist market during that month with 9,9% of the total) with €120,23 on average, followed by British tourists (largest tourist market with 36,3% of the total in April 2023) with an average daily spend of €79,51 while tourists from Poland (third largest market with 6,7%) spent €77,67 per day.
