It reiterates that "these vehicles are safe and suitable for traffic".

The owners of the affected vehicles will be informed by Unicars about the technical solution, when there will be an update from the Technical Development department of the Volkswagen group and it expects to implement the necessary technical upgrades in the first quarter of 2016, estimating that the upgrade campaign will last one time.

A relevant announcement of the Service states that, responding to its calls for immediate information, Unicars informed it in writing about the actions it has taken and the procedure that should be followed by the owners of affected vehicles.

Based on the letter, Volkswagen has developed a software solution for the 189- and 1.2-liter EA2.0 engines, and has submitted them to the German Federal Road Traffic Service, and for the 189-liter EA1.6 engine, Volkswagen will not only present a software upgrade, but also a technical solution for changing some spare parts in the engine.

The Competition and Consumer Protection Service, for smoother management of the problem, invites the owners of the affected vehicles to contact the dealership directly at the e-mail customercare@unicars.com or call 80077560 for more information.
