Components
For apples
- 6 apples
- 1 tbsp. cinnamon
- 100 gr. walnuts, coarsely chopped
For the cake
- 360 gr. flour for all uses, sifted
- 300 g sugar
- 4 eggs at room temperature
- 100 ml sunflower oil
- 100 gr. unsalted butter, melted
- 60 ml of orange juice
- 1 tbsp. baking powder
- 1 sachet of vanilla
- 1 tsp salt
Execution method
For apples
- Peel the apples, cut them into thin slices and put them in a bowl. Add 2 tbsp. flour (from 360 gr.), cinnamon and coarsely chopped walnuts.
- Stir gently with a spoon and keep the bowl aside.
For the cake
- Preheat the oven to 180 ° C
- Butter and flour a mold (approx. 25 cm in diameter).
- In a bowl, mix the flour with the baking powder and salt.
- In a second large bowl, mix the sunflower oil with the juice, melted butter, sugar and vanilla.
- Then, add the eggs one by one, beating for a long time to neutralize the smell of the egg.
- Add the mixture of solids to the bowl with the eggs and mix with a whisk until the ingredients are combined.
- Put half the mixture in the form and spread the half apples on top. Cover them with the rest of the mixture and then spread the remaining apples on top.
- Bake the cake for about 1 hour in the oven.
- Let it cool for 15 minutes before removing it from the mold.
- Serve with vanilla ice cream.
