The National Memorial of the heroes of Avgoros and a Prayer in favor of finding the Missing Persons of the Community was held today.
The memorial service was held at the Church of the Apostles Peter and Paul in Avgorou and was organized by the families of the heroes, the patriotic THOI Association of Avgorou and the Community.
The memorial service was delivered by the Minister of Defense, Christoforos Fokaidis.
Afterwards, wreaths were laid at the Heroes' Monument in Avgoros Square.
A memorial prayer was performed for the heroes of the National Liberation Struggle EOKA 1955-59, Loukia Laoutari-Papageorgiou (5/7/1958), Andrea Karyo (2/9/1958), Panagi Zacharia (5/7/1958) and Geo ( / 28/10), the Fallen against the Turkish War 1958-'1963 Probationary Monk Spyridon Pericles, the Fallen during the Turkish invasion of 64, Panagiotis Pafitis (1974/20/7), Costas Hatzigiannis (1974/21/7), Nikiforos Karyo (1974/24/7), Panagiotis Vrakas (1974/21/7), Nikos A. Kyriakou (1974/23/7) and Panagiotis Marinou (1974/3/8), the victims of the Turkish atrocity Michael Zenon (1974 / 23/7), Panagiotis Christodoulou (1974/17/8) and Petros Kakoullis (1974/13/10) and prayers in favor of finding the Missing Georgios Pilatos, Kyriakos Kalathas, Antonis Papageorgiou, Antonis Christodoulou Psathas, Evagoras Souri Pois and Christodoulos Laoutari.
