Removing stains from marble may seem like a difficult process, however, there are several ways to achieve it, without much effort.
Despite its durability, marble is sensitive to stains and scratches. It easily absorbs liquids that can leave marks on its surface.
To keep your home marble clean, you need to know how to remove potential stains quickly and efficiently.
Removing stains from marble: When based on oil or soap use ammonia or oxygen
Grease, cooking oil, milk, peanut butter, creams, cosmetics and other oil-based products easily penetrate the porous structure of the marble and leave persistent stains that darken its surface.
Try cleaning the area with a soft, damp cleanser mixed with several drops of ammonia. If the result is not satisfactory, use oxygen (be careful not to dye) which can be found in pharmacies.
Soap accumulates in the pores of the marble, quickly staining the surfaces. Therefore, shower walls, bathroom floors and sinks and other marble pieces that come in contact with soapy water need frequent cleaning.
Fortunately, it is quite easy to remove soap stains from marble - just add half a cup of ammonia to a little water and wipe the surfaces. However, be careful not to use too much ammonia as it may affect the marble surface.
Removing marble stains: For baking soda use baking soda
Stains from coffee, tea, wine, food and other organic substances are relatively easy to remove. Make a paste of baking soda and water, spread it on the stain and cover it with a plastic bag. Leave on for at least 24 hours and then remove the baking soda with a sponge.
