Dimitris Masias was introduced to us as a football referee, a profession he practiced until recently. He studied nursing, while he has a master's degree in medical sciences and a degree in communication.

A man of football for years, he continues to do what he loves from the position of football mediator.

Read the interesting interview he gave to InBusiness:

What qualifications do you need to be a football mediator?
A good football mediator must have a football education in order to be able to detect talent. The qualifications he must have are many. The biggest thing, however, is that he can convince the players to trust him and he in turn helps them.

How do you achieve cooperation with footballers and teams?
I create a football father relationship with my footballers. The cooperation is achieved through daily contact, monitoring and football guidance.

What challenges does your profession have and what has been the biggest for you so far?
The challenge is to discover football talents, which then have a successful course in the teams you suggest. The biggest challenge I have had so far was to convince Olympiakos Piraeus about the talent of Ioannis Kostis.

How many footballers do you represent today?
I represent about 15 footballers. Among them are Ioannis Kostis, Iraklis Maisuradze, Yaroslav Martynyuk, Kypros Christoforou and Giannis Efstathiou.

Tell us an incident of your career, which has been unforgettable for you.
What will be unforgettable for me, in my short career as a football mediator, is my presence in the offices of Olympiacos Piraeus. The trust that the club and its president, Vangelis Marinakis, showed in me, is something that I felt to be particularly honored by the discussions that also took place about Ioannis Kostis with Olympiakos.

How can a mediator attract football players - clients?
The good work you do is the one that will lead you to new collaborations. If your reputation is good, then it will be easier for footballers to trust you with their fortunes. For example, the interest of Olympiacos Piraeus for Ioannis Kostis helped me a lot. Now many young footballers see in my face the man who will take them one step further in their football career.

Do you cooperate with mediators outside Cyprus?
If you want to be a good football mediator, you must have collaborations abroad.
