His doctors judged that the 28-year-old singer will be able to have "a completely normal life" again.

Portuguese singer Salvador Sombral, the winner of the 2017 Eurovision Song Contest after being discharged from a Lisbon hospital on Friday, where he underwent heart transplant surgery, said his voice was "unstable".

"I think I lived the most unpredictable year I could ever imagine," said the singer, who underwent surgery in early December, speaking on state television network RTP, according to APE-MPE.

"All this affected me a lot physically, because of the drugs (…) my voice is a bit unstable but I think it will come back," added Sombral, obviously fatter than in May 2017, when he won the Eurovision Song Contest.

After the operation, his doctors judged that the 28-year-old singer will be able to have "a completely normal life" again.

Salvador Sobral won in Kiev, Ukraine, giving Portugal its first Eurovision victory with a jazz song written by Louisa Sombral's sister, "Amar Pelos Dois" (I love you both for them ).
