Cut the cheese, store it in the refrigerator, but in the end it dries until you consume it. In fact, some cheeses dry faster.
And yet, there is a trick that helps keep the cheese from drying out. All you have to do is rub some oil or butter on it.
If you use butter, squeeze it deep into the cracks and rub it on the separated edges.
This trick is most effective on hard wax cheeses.
