Notis Sfakianakis is currently experiencing the loss of one of his closest associates and friends, that of Giorgos Kassambalis.
According to a report from the "Happy Day" show, Giorgos Kassambalis died yesterday, Wednesday, April 17. "Everyone knows this particular man as the right hand man of the South. He was one of the few people along with his nephew who still had contact, because Notis changed his phone number almost every week, so that they could not trace him. He was facing some health problems," said a reporter of the show.
Along the way, it was reported on the same show that the folk singer probably won't be attending his dear friend's funeral.
"It is not certain whether Notis Sfakianakis will attend the funeral. The popular singer did not attend the funeral of Manolis Souvatzis in the summer and in all probability the same will happen now," said Haris Lebidakis about Notis Sfakianakis.
Within a few months, Notis Sfakianakis has lost two close people. Last July, its conductor, Manolis Souvatzis, passed away.

His nephew Notis Sfakianakis emphasized at another point, that his uncle is "making a career in his absence" since most of the media are concerned with whether he will make a comeback.
