The process of registering children in the General Health System begins today at 16.00:70 p.m. The initial list of pediatricians includes XNUMX doctors from all provinces, who come from both the public and private sectors.
The initial number of pediatricians will gradually increase since some who have registered with the National Health Service have not yet completed the process of signing their contracts with the Health Insurance Organization.
However, based on the population of children in Cyprus, the NHS can start its operation with 70 paediatricians.
In order to ensure better services to children, the Health Insurance Agency hopes that the number will increase in the next period to at least 90 doctors, based on the messages it receives from pediatricians.
Children up to 18 years of age have the right to be registered in the lists of pediatricians. However, it is recalled that children from 15 to 18 years of age have the right to register either on the pediatrician's list or on the personal doctor's list for adults.
Before the registration process, a meeting of the Minister of Health with representatives of the pediatric company has been scheduled.
