The outbreak of coronavirus cases in the cat population has led the veterinary services, according to Christodoulos Pipis, to investigate with the Ministry of Health the possibility of whether preparations which the state has ordered for use in humans and which are about to expire before they expire be made available to veterinary services in order to be used in cats for prevention or treatment purposes.
The director of veterinary services stated that a vaccine already exists and is being used, it is not the same as the one used for humans as it is a different virus.
It should be noted that the feline coronavirus cannot be transmitted to other animals, it is excluded in cats. The symptoms that can warn that the cat is suffering from coronavirus are peritonitis, inflammation, fever, liquid in the abdomen and can even cause death.
