Large private centers are gradually beginning to declare their participation in the GESS, further improving the climate in favor of the smooth operation of the General Health System.
Speaking to the RIK Morning Schedule, the Deputy General Manager of the Health Insurance Organization, Andreas Papakonstantinou stated that contacts have been made with hospitals in Nicosia, Limassol and Paphos and in the coming days further positive announcements will follow.
He also noted that, already, large private medical centers have informed OAY that they will participate in the System and pointed out that they will follow contacts with private hospitals in Larnaca and Famagusta.
He also said that a new health center of European standards is being prepared in Nicosia, which has expressed interest and will participate in the GESS. He stressed that this fact proves that the new economic environment that is being created in the health sector is attracting new investors.
Mr. Papakonstantinou assured that the lists for selection of personal doctors will open in mid-April.
