The University of Cyprus today expressed its deep sorrow for the unfortunate loss of 25-year-old Rafaela Pattihi.
The young woman, who lost her life yesterday in a car accident, was a graduate of Byzantine and Modern Greek Philology in 2016 and an excellent graduate of the postgraduate program in Modern Greek Philology in 2018, of the Department of Byzantine and Modern Greek Studies.
"The University of Cyprus mourns the unjust loss of its graduate, Rafaela Pattihi, who passed away so prematurely and unjustly, at the age of 25," the statement said.
The University and the Rector's Council expressed their sincere condolences to the family of the deceased, while it was decided that the flags at the University of Cyprus will be waved at midnight today, Wednesday, the day of the funeral.
