Nominees for this year's Lukas Award (equivalent to Latin Grammy but in Europe and based in London) in the "Classic / Jazz / Traditional Artists of the Year" category are Cypriot singer Andria Antoniou and Argentine composer Roman Gomez.

Their collaboration expresses the power of the meeting (hence the title of the album - encuentro means meeting) between artists and musical cultures. The album is inspired by themes such as shift, nostalgia, loneliness, the utopian experience of love and the power of women to resist inequality and seek their freedom.

The entire album will be released online on October 13. So far, two of the songs on the album have been released as singles, "La Negra" and "Tango Notturno".

Andria Antoniou is a Cypriot / Finnish singer and musician specializing in jazz, Latin music and Greek light song.

In 2010-2015 he studied music in London. He holds a Master's degree in Jazz from the Guildhall School of Music & Drama, a Professional Development in Musical Theater from the Associated Studios and a Bachelor of Music from the City of London University. Regarding the possibility of an award, he stated that "the mere fact that we have been selected as candidates is a great recognition. Certainly if we get the first prize it will make us feel a satisfaction that we managed to reach a portion of people with our music. "Then such recognition will definitely help us to further our cooperation and thus be able to reach a larger portion of people."

In addition to being a recognized piano, bandoneon and guitar soloist, Roman Gomez of Buenos Aires is also an outstanding composer and orchestrator. In addition to studying tango, he received a classical education, studied classical piano, jazz piano and big band ensembles at Ward College in Buenos Aires and electronic music technology with Diego Bosco in Rimini, Italy.

For the last ten years he has been living in Greece, in Athens, where he has developed intense musical activity.
