A written announcement of the Ministry of Defense states that shortly after 4 this afternoon the Larnaca KSED received information regarding an injured person after falling into the sea from a height at the location "Palathkia" Sea Caves in the area of ​​Kavo Greko.

KSED immediately mobilized the Fire Service of Famagusta Station, EMAK and an ambulance of the Ministry of Health, while two speedboats of the Port and Maritime Police of Paralimni Station and Ayia Napa in the area were also called to the scene.

According to the announcement, "due to the unfavorable weather conditions and the high waves, the rescue could not be performed by sea. The 19-year-old injured woman was pulled out by the rescuers of the Fire Service of Famagusta Station, was handed over to the ambulance of the Ministry of Health "and was transported to the General Hospital of Famagusta.

On the occasion of the incident, KSED "calls on the public to avoid dangerous dives from rocky areas when adverse weather conditions prevail and especially in the sea caves of Ayia Napa where it is strictly forbidden. Violators will be charged with illegal and dangerous acts and activation of the E-D system for high-risk operations for rescuers and rescue means.
