The rescue operation of an injured person in the area of the Sea Caves in Cape Greco was completed around 19:50.
This is a 19-year-old from Ireland, who has back injuries and was taken to the General Hospital of Famagusta. His health condition is out of danger.
The rescue operation was undertaken by the Search and Rescue Center, with the assistance of a helicopter. However, due to the unfavorable weather conditions, it was not possible to pull the 19-year-old injured from the sea.
EMAK was then called to the scene, which with the use of tripods and a rescuer managed to approach the injured and bring him ashore.
The 19-year-old, according to the first indications, allegedly dived from the caves, resulting in his injury.
