The organization of the final phase of EURO U17 - 2021 was discussed at the Offices of the Cyprus Football Federation by the Mayor of Ayia Napa Christos Zannettou and the President of the KOP George Koumas.
A written statement from the Municipality of Ayia Napa states that “Mr. Zannettou and Mr. Koumas discussed the organization of the final phase of EURO U17 2021 in Cyprus next May. In particular, the way of promoting the event through the Municipality of Ayia Napa and the utilization of the football facilities of the Municipality for the training of the teams that will play in the final phase of EURO U17 ”were discussed.
Christos Zannettou "thanked the KOP for giving the Municipality of Ayia Napa the opportunity to participate in such an important event, through which both Cyprus and Ayia Napa will be promoted abroad, as a football and tourist destination".
He added that "the Municipality of Ayia Napa welcomes the organization of such major sporting events in Cyprus, not only football but all sports and therefore the immediate goals of the Municipality is to create a modern Sports Center."
On his part, the President of KOP "thanked the Mayor of Ayia Napa for the spirit of cooperation and the willingness of him and his Municipality to contribute substantially to the promotion and organization of the final phase of EURO U17 2021".
It is noted that the meeting was also attended by the General Manager Anthoulis Mylonas, the Director of International Relations Adonis Prokopiou and the Head of the organization of EURO U17 Stelios Potamitis.
