They discussed highlighting the cultural and religious wealth of Ayia Napa through the creation of cultural routes

The promotion of the cultural and religious wealth of Ayia Napa through the creation of cultural routes was discussed by the Deputy Minister of Culture Dr. Vasiliki Kassianidou with the Mayor of Ayia Napa Christos Zannettos

A statement from the Municipality states that "at the meeting held by the Deputy Minister of Culture and the Mayor on Saturday, March 2, during her tour of the free province of Famagusta, issues of highlighting the cultural and religious wealth of the region were discussed, including monuments or places of archaeological interest that have recently arrived to the light following research or rescue excavations".
Dr. Kassianidou stated in her statements that "among the objectives of the Deputy Ministry is to create cultural routes, in collaboration with the Deputy Ministry of Tourism, both to highlight the monuments and places of the region as well as the cultural landscape".

The Mayor of Ayia Napa, "welcomed the statement of the Deputy Minister, adding that it is a commitment for the Municipality and for him personally, to cooperate with the Deputy Ministries of Culture and Tourism regarding the creation of cultural routes in the free province of Famagusta. These routes will highlight important reference points of the province and will simultaneously contribute to enriching the activities and also informing the visitors".

According to the announcement "before the meeting with the Mayor, the Deputy Minister of Culture visited the Medieval Monastery of Agia Napa, where she was informed by the Metropolitan of Constantia and Famagusta Vasilios and by the Mayor Christos Zannettos about the maintenance work and the developments regarding the conversion of the Monastery in a museum space".

Dr. Kassianidou "was also informed about the cooperation of the Municipality of Agia Napa with the Department of Antiquities regarding the last phase of the implementation of the works in the Monastery with the ultimate goal of completing the project within a few months".
