A 17-year-old resident of Paralimni, who was injured last night in a road collision in Ayia Napa, is being treated at the Nicosia General Hospital in an extremely critical condition. An 18-year-old man was also injured in the collision, who is being treated at a private clinic in the province of Famagusta.
The road collision happened around 10.30pm. yesterday, on Cabo Greco Avenue, in Ayia Napa. The two young men were riding a motorcycle, driven by the 18-year-old. Under circumstances, which are being investigated by the Police, the driver lost control of the motorcycle, as a result of which it overturned and its two passengers were injured.
The 18-year-old was taken to a private clinic in the province of Famagusta, where he was detained for treatment, after it was found that he has broken ribs and abrasions on various parts of his body.
The 17-year-old was initially taken to Famagusta General Hospital, where it was found that he had suffered a brain injury. Due to his health condition, he was intubated and taken to Nicosia General Hospital, where he is being treated. His health condition is described by the treating doctors as extremely critical.
The Ayia Napa Police Station is investigating the causes of the collision.
