The unfortunate Andreas Andreou, 22 years old from Frenaros, lost his life last night in an accident that occurred in Ayia Napa.

At around 23pm last night, a 22-year-old student from Pakistan was driving his car along Cape Greco-Protara Avenue, heading to Ayia Napa, when he collided with a large motorcycle at some point on the road, according to police. cubic capacity driven by a XNUMX-year-old from Frenaros and was moving in the direction from Protaras to Ayia Napa.

After the collision, the motorcycle went off the road and after falling into a ditch on the left side of the road, it came to a standstill.

According to the information from the collision, the 22-year-old was thrown on the asphalt, as a result of which he ended up in an adjacent acacia, where the intervention of the Fire Service was needed to free him.

The 22-year-old was seriously injured and was transported by ambulance to the TAEP of the General Hospital of Famagusta, where the doctors on duty confirmed his death. Investigations by the Police revealed that the young man was Andreas Andreou from Frenaros.

Men from the Famagusta Traffic Police went to the scene and the driver of the car underwent a preliminary alcohol test with zero indication and a negative drug test.

Police investigations revealed that the occupants of the car were wearing seat belts, the 22-year-old was not wearing a protective helmet and was not licensed to ride a motorcycle.

Andreou is survived by his wife and 14-month-old baby.

The Famagusta Traffic Department is investigating the case.
