According to the Foreign Minister, the works at the Deryneia roadblock, where the distance inside the dead zone is relatively short, will last about 10 weeks.

The road in the dead zone between Lefka and Aplikio will have to be done from the beginning in several places, with the works estimated to take 16 weeks.

Meanwhile, the Mayor of Deryneia, Andros Karagiannis, stated that he was unaware of the developments.

The technical works concern the construction, widening and expansion of roads, while expropriations are expected to take place.

In the meantime, the Greek Cypriot side insists on the discussion before the Technical Committee on the issue of opening two passages, one on the old Aglantzias-Athienou road and one in Tilliria, and awaits the Turkish Cypriot side's response to the Greek Cypriot proposals. side on this issue.
