In bureaucratic procedures, it seems that important development projects are stuck, which are expected to be promoted in free Famagusta. Overall, according to what it presents today Famagusta.News, the stagnant projects constitute 6,17% of the projects that have been completed or are being implemented in the area and specifically 5 of the 81, while there are projects which, although they are expected to start their operation, are in fact in a state of stagnation with the most important the Deryneia-Sotiras road but also the Sewage Treatment Plant and consequently the Sewerage System of Kokkinochorion, as well as the local plan of the area, which although not included in the development projects that are part of the Government's program, is undoubtedly important element for the future urban and socio-economic development of the whole region.
According to official government figures provided by Famagusta.News, of the 81 projects included in the development program for the province of Famagusta, 44 have been completed (54,32%) at a cost of € 56.193.427, 19 have been launched for implementation (23,46%) at a cost of € 112.938.214, and 13 are under construction (16,05%) at a cost of € 18.060.000
Stationary works
Of the stagnant projects, three are of public benefit for the whole province, one belongs to the Municipality of Paralimni and one to the Municipality of Ayia Napa. Nevertheless, it is clarified that although according to the data of the Government the two projects in Ayia Napa and Paralimni are considered as "stationary", nevertheless the date of their start is part of 2021.
