The Movement of Ecologists - Citizens' Cooperation characterizes the protests of the residents of Ayia Napa for the illegal burning of garbage in the area of Ayia Napa - Paralimni as fair.
According to the Movement in its announcement, the complaints of the residents in areas of free Famagusta are intense, who protested on the night of Wednesday 12/06/19, because they could not tolerate the heavy smell of smoke that created a climate of discomfort in many communities.

The information, as stated in the announcement, speaks of a situation that has evolved as there seems to be an inability to manage garbage, with the result that some people think of lighting a fire in the garbage of the illegal landfill in the area, in order to reduce it!
The Fire Brigade attempted on Sunday night with three vehicles to extinguish the fire in the garbage but the fire due to winds was rekindled. Another attempt was made with the contribution and excavator, however the damage to the air quality had now reached suffocating points.
On Wednesday night, the residents due to the intense discomfort held a spontaneous protest for the situation.
