The security authorities are convinced that they prevented a new massacre in free Famagusta, after the discovery of the "giafka" on the ranch, between Ayia Napa and Paralimni, where Giannis Kalopsidiotis was killed about four years ago, according to an article in the newspaper "Politis".
For the last two years, a 38-year-old man has been living in this house, who is considered a suspect for the possession of illegal weapons. He was taken to the Famagusta District Court last Wednesday and was remanded in custody for eight days.
Secure information cited by the newspaper "Politis" states that the investigators of TAE Famagusta are sure that they have prevented a new blood cycle, with a criminal act that was planned very soon. This is because preliminary tests revealed that the RPG anti-tank launcher found on the ranch, which had a missile and propellants, was ready for immediate use and appears to have recently been transported to a rural residence.
The security authorities, according to a well-informed source cited by the Police, are aware of the motives of the planned attack and what were the possible targets, to which the relevant warnings have already been issued.
As for the rest of the weapons that were found well camouflaged in various places, inside and outside the ranch, it has been sent for ballistic tests. These are two shotguns that are not registered in the name of the 38-year-old, a loaded pistol with 14 bullets and a defensive grenade. A large number of hunting and military cartridges, pistol holsters, bulletproof vests and wild bird trapping tools were also found. Small doses of cocaine and precision scales with traces of white powder were also found.
