Changes in celebration programs for the national anniversary of 28 October It is expected to bring bad weather and rain which prevails in almost the entire province of Famagusta from early this morning.

The parade in the Municipality of Sotira is postponed
Οδη ο Municipality of Sotira informed through his announcement that today's parade is postponed due to the rain. The parade in Sotira was scheduled for 09:15 in the morning on Makarios C 'Avenue.
At 10:00 the parade is scheduled at Municipality of Deryneia, while at 11:00 the provincial parade is scheduled at Paralimni on April 1st Avenue, with the local authorities waiting until the last minute for the development of the weather as to whether they will proceed with the realization or cancellation of the planned parades.
Torrential rains in Famagusta
In the free area of Famagusta, torrential rains have been falling since the morning, but without any problems.
A statement from the Police states that due to the weather conditions and the heavy rain that prevails on the Nicosia - Larnaca highway, the traffic of cars is dangerous.
Police urge drivers to be especially careful and avoid unnecessary traffic.
Yellow warning from the Meteorological Department
The Department of Meteorology issued a yellow warning for today.
The warning is valid from 7 in the morning until 5 in the afternoon. The area is expected to be affected by isolated strong thunderstorms, in which the intensity of the rain will be between 35 and 55 mm per hour, while hail is likely to occur.

Today, the weather will be at times mostly cloudy, with local rains and isolated thunderstorms. In a storm, hail is not ruled out. The winds will initially blow southeast to southwest, weak to moderate, 3 to 4 Beaufort, to later become mainly southwesterly to northwesterly of the same intensity. The sea will be a little turbulent. The temperature will rise to around 26 degrees inland and on the coast and around 15 degrees in the higher mountains.
Tonight, the weather will gradually become partly cloudy, with the possibility of isolated rains, mainly on the beaches. The winds will blow mainly northwest as north, weak and temporarily up to moderate, 3 to 4 Beaufort. The sea will soon become calm to a little turbulent. The temperature will drop to 13 degrees inland, around 15 on the coast and 7 degrees in the higher mountains.
On Tuesday, locally increased clouds that will be observed are expected to give isolated rains or even thunderstorms, at noon and early in the afternoon, mainly in the mountains, the interior and the southeast coast.
On Wednesday and Thursday, the weather will initially be mostly clear, however at noon and early afternoon, locally increased clouds may give isolated rains, mainly in the mountains.
The temperature will gradually rise until Wednesday and not a significant change on Thursday, to be above the average climatic values.
