Welding work carried out in a horticultural repair shop in a shop in Paralimni caused, as the investigation carried out, a fire in the premises, resulting in damage.
An announcement of the Fire Service states that at 12:18 yesterday a call was received for a fire in a laboratory inside a shop selling and repairing horticultural / agricultural tools and machines on Griva Digeni Avenue in Paralimni.
The Famagusta Fire Station responded with two fire trucks and the fire was brought under control at 13.00. The fire destroyed tree-cutting machines, lawn mowers and various other garden tools. The whole store was damaged by the heat and smoke. Water wrappers from the tanks of the fire trucks and a number of breathing apparatus were used to extinguish the fire.
In total, in the last 24 hours, the Ministry of Defense responded to 30 calls for help, 21 fires, special services and 4 false calls.
