At the age of 3 and 5… they lost what was most valuable and expensive they had

They are two very brave, generous and kind children. They always smile because they have learned to hold their wounds as deep as they can.

Two brothers with morals, principles and selflessness who fight to this day without having with them the most precious gift that God gives to every human being…

Abraham and Florentina Pittaki are from Paralimni. The two brothers talk about their mother but also about what happened in their lives:

"Our mother was born on March 3, 1965 in London. Her parents are from Paralimni and she has two sisters.

He studied economics and law. From 1987 to 1990, he taught at a high school and college in London. At the end of 1990 he came to live permanently in Cyprus. She got engaged to our father on January 6, 1991 and they got married on August 25 of the same year.

In Cyprus she worked as Deputy Director at Intercollege in Larnaca, Professor of Economics at Melkonal and Professor of Economics and Law at the American Academy.

It was also…

Regular blood donor from a young age. At the American Academy, he had organized a Blood Donation group and a First Aid group. He was an active member of the child support group from Africa and Asia (the group had 180 students and supported 12 children from both continents). He has been an organ donor since 1987 when he graduated from the University. As if he knew he was going to die so soon τόσο

HVDtPfs Human, Nea FamagustaHer heart was transplanted to a 17-year-old from Israel. One of her kidneys was given to a man from a village in the province of Nicosia and the other to a Cypriot from Australia who now lives in a village in the province of Larnaca.

Our mom was a very special person, selfless and kind. A colleague of hers had said before: "Yulla was the most popular teacher. Everyone wanted to hang out with her and her students loved her. No one remembers her without a smile on her face.

We even prayed for those who saw us on the street and pointed their fingers at us, saying: "In these orphans"

One meeting with her was enough to impress you. She was flawless in all her roles, as a teacher, as a husband, as a mother, as a housewife, as a friend. He was a righteous, just and honest man. He gave and received love ".

June 24, 1998…

He was seriously injured in a car accident on the Paralimni - Ayia Napa road. He came on foot to the auxiliary stadiums of Ayia Napa to find us, our father was playing football. He died a week later in Paralimni hospital. It was 1η July day Wednesday.

Our father after her death…

Both mother and father stood together. He did not accept that our grandparents raised us and it was not because he did not love them but because he did not want to be harmed. He stayed up late every night and cooked so that we could have lunch the next day. He always found time for us. We thank him for the principles, the ethos and the values, the greatest supplies in this life.

Every year a blood donation is made in her memory.

This year it was for 18η year blood donation in the memory of our mom and together a football tournament in which more than 40 people participated.

(The tournament takes place because at the time of the accident, our father was playing football with his friends).

A wish to all the children of the world…

"We were very young then and we did not understand much. Growing up, however, her absence became more and more noticeable…

We did not have her caress and kiss. We did not have her by our side in our illnesses, in our tears, in our sorrows and in our joys. On our birthday, when we blew out the candles and had only one parent…

At our graduation we saw only one of our parents stand up and applaud us.

Mother's Day always reminds us how wonderful it is to have your mother and how difficult and unfair it is not to have her.

At night, when all the lights went out in the house, we thanked God for what we had and prayed for our lost mother. We even prayed for those who saw us on the street and pointed at us, saying: "In these orphans." It hurt us a lot then but that was what made us even stronger.

It is nice to feel that even from above, there are souls who think of you, love you and long for you.

Those children who lost one of their parents, we hope to have at least the other always by their side, to try in every way to fill the gap, as happened to us. Those who have not lost either of them, should appreciate them and not take them for granted. Let them rejoice and love them ".
