The High School of Paralimni is adopting an African school

Paralim High School Paralimni High School, Philanthropic Action

Representatives of the Central Student Council of Paralimni High School handed over to Archimandrite Anastasios Pogiatzis, a doctor and member of the Orthodox Mission in Burundi, a sum of money for the Saint Paisios Ėcole Fondamentale.

The amount was the result of a spontaneous fundraiser conducted on the initiative of the Central Student Council, after the presentation by the Panosiologist Anastasios Pogiatzis of the mission work in Burundi and the living conditions prevailing in this African country.

Paralimni Lyceum of Paralimni, Charitable Action

As a continuation of the initiative of the Central Student Council, the Teachers' Association of the Lyceum, following a suggestion of the School Management, decided to adopt the specific school. The goal will be the financial and wider material support of the school of Ag. Paisios in Burundi, on a more systematic basis, through the organization of various activities and through these activities, the acquaintance with the school, the creation of a bridge of communication with its students and finally the awareness of the student community of Paralimni High School in issues of international solidarity.

The school Saint Paisios Ėcole Fondamentale

The Saint Paisios Ėcole Fondamentale, supported by the Orthodox mission in Burundi,is a primary and secondary school attended by about 600 young men and women and is located in the village of Buramata, which together with other villages and settlements make up the Gihuanga community of Moyange Municipality, Bubanza Province in NW Burundi. As a result of the long civil war between the Hutu and Tutsi tribes that lasted from 1962 to 2005, half a million people lost their lives.
