The 58-year-old patient who was hospitalized in the Suspicious Incidents Ward of the General Hospital of Paphos is expected to be transferred to the Reference Center at the Famagusta Hospital today, Wednesday. According to information from the Paphos Hospital, the 58-year-old was found to be positive for the coronavirus after the relevant sampling that was submitted to him.

The 58-year-old patient was treated on Sunday by the Short-Term Care Center - Sorting Center of the Paphos General Hospital, with symptoms of a few days characteristic of coronavirus. He was then treated in the Suspicious Cases Ward of the Paphos State Hospital and was later found to be positive.

It is noted that an 80-year-old woman is being treated in the Ward of Suspected Incidents. Both had respiratory symptoms and a febrile condition.

Meanwhile, the 70-year-old woman with a suspected case of coronavirus who arrived at the Short-Term Care Center - Sorting Center of the General Hospital of Paphos on Saturday, was admitted the next day (Sunday) to the Limassol Hospital and is also being investigated.

It is noted that the operation of the two wards, ie the Sorting Center and the Suspicious Incident Ward, continues without any problems with the staffing of nursing and medical staff.

The operation of the two wards is a result of a decision of the Ministry of Health to better deal with the coronavirus epidemic in General Hospitals, while the project became difficult due to the major problems created at the Hospital by the epidemic and outbreaks of coronavirus among health professionals.

Nevertheless, in a period of about ten days, the organization of the two wards and the operation of a clinical hospitalization of the Suspected Coronavirus Cases was achieved.

The Sorting Center is open 24 hours a day.

Meanwhile, the General Hospital of Paphos is expected to visit on Wednesday morning the President of OKYPY Marios Panagidis and the Executive General Manager of OKYPY Christis Loizidis together with other health agencies, to examine the full reopening of the state hospital of Paphos.

According to information from KYPE, the purpose of their visit, which is expected to take place early in the morning, is to examine the health problems due to the coronavirus pandemic. The representatives of the State Health Services Organization are expected to tour the wards of the Emergency Hospital - Sorting Center and the Suspicious Incidents Room of the General Hospital of Paphos that started their operation on Saturday.
