An increase in patients hospitalized with coronavirus and influenza is also recorded at Famagusta General Hospital, with occupancy exceeding 90%.

As the press representative of the Cyprus State Services Organization (OKYpY) Charalambos Charilaou reported to Famagusta News, at the moment around 10 to 15 patients are being treated daily with coronavirus at Famagusta General Hospital.

As far as COVID19 is concerned, he clarified that the people being hospitalized are mainly elderly people over 75 years old.
The RSV virus is on the rise with the pediatric department of the Famagusta Hospital showing increased occupancy.

Mr. Charilaou added that "during this period we also started to see an increase in flu cases that are hospitalized every day."

According to Mr. Harilaou, the number of cases of infections this winter season at Famagusta General Hospital is the same as last year.

Mr. Harilaou said that "we are in the winter season, the cases of infections that exist are increased but they are expected. Every year at this time there are flus, infections whether they are viral or bacterial but they are within the expected limits. We are prepared to face them", he added.
