AKEL Famagusta expresses its grief over the death of the musician and composer Elias Kouloumi, who left an indelible mark on the promotion of the Cypriot music tradition and folk poetry.
Elias Kouloumis, originally from Lysis and Frenaros, was the son of families with active involvement in Culture. He took part in dozens of festivals, concerts and events promoting popular culture. As part of his rich journey, he collaborated closely with leading artists, such as Pieris Pierettis, Kyriakou Pelagia, Andreas Nikolaou, Michalis Hatzimichael and others. He was one of the founding members of the pioneering band "The Mediterranean".
Elias Kouloumis's love for Cyprus was great and continuous. The culmination of this love was the release of the album "United Cyprus".
